Captivate 6- Blank Screen on Load

Does anyone know how to fix the blank screen on course load in Captivate 6? I know I'm not tweaking my publishing settings correctly because I didn't have this issue with Captivate 5.5.

I have Autoplay selected and Preloader deselected. I'm wondering if I can fix the problem by selecting a preloader.

If you have no preloader selected then the ONLY thing that can appear while content is downloading will be a blank screen.

If you configure a preloader, then you'll STILL only likely see a blank screen if you test the content on anything other than a web server.  Preloaders are really for content delivered over HTTP.

I had the same problem when publishing to PDF in version 5.5, 6 and 7.

The solution was simple but not so obvious.

Goto publish, select preferences, select project, select start and end (now here is the tricky bit) uncheck preloader then click on the browse button next to preloader and choose a background you want to appear when the project starts.

In my case the first slide was a Powerpoint.  So I wanted the powerpoint to be the background.  Problem was the background for a Powerpoint was a swf file and did not appear in the backgrounds.  So I had to right click on the slide and choose copy background, then right click on the slide again and choose paste background.  Now I can select the background "clipboard.....PNG" and it works.

I also have this problem. If I publish in Captivate 5.5 with the preloader set at 15% then I get an image of the first slide as the image on the front of the player once it has loaded, but not yet played. Then when I load this file and republish in Captivate 6, rather than having the first slide image, I also get the blank screen. This leads me to think that this is a new issue with Captivate 6.

Anyone got a work around or a suggestion as I'd prefer to have the image of the first slide on my player.

Did you tried with Preloader checked?

Try this with a new project and check if you get the same issue or not.

Do you have captivate 5.5 and 6 installed on the same computer?
