Captivate 6 crashing

I am on a Windows 7 laptop with Captivate 6.  Upon opening my Captivate immediately shuts down.  On one occssion I was actually able to get to a screen that gave me an option to find out what was wrong - it said APPCrash.

    Hi There,

    If you do no have any specific settings for your Projects in Adobe Captivate 6, then try these steps :

    1) Close Adobe Captivate 6

    2) Go to this location : C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\Adobe folder

    3) Rename "Captivate 6" folder to "1234"

    4) Launch Captivate and try
