Captivate 6-Difficulty Pasting Text

I am having difficulty pasting text into Captivate 6 text captions. I can mark/copy/paste text from a captivate text caption into Notepad, Word, etc. But when I try to paste it back, it only pastes the first text pasted, and not the content currently on the clipboard. Very strange. Any ideas? The only fix is to exit Captivate and relaunch it. Not a solution obviously!

Hi

Try testing the same on different slides. If same occurs on mulitple slides and even on a new project, recreate Captivate 6 preferences.

Close Captivate 6 and rename the Captivate 6.0 folder to Captivate6.0old

Path for Captivate 6 preferences

XP :-

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe

Windows 7 :

C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\

launch Captivate 6 and observe the behavior of Captivate 6.

Thanks! I greatly appreciate the time you spent entering your response. I am copying and archiving your response for future issues as I know from past experience that it solves a number of issues--but I had forgotten these steps.

In the case of this text pasting issue, I finally completely uninstalled and reinstalled Captivate 6. Turns out Visual C++ 2005...had been removed (another story) and reinstalling Captivate 6 reinstalled that as well.

So it appears that all is well again.

Again, please accept my thanks. I generally only post when I am against the wall and need help, and greatly appreciate the time other folks spend to help ingrates like me!

Thank you for your kind words Also thank you for sharing the resolution that resolves the captivate issue that you were facing. I have learnt a new thing from you and I truly appreciate that.
