Captivate 6 Fatal Error when recording video

Has anyone experienced getting a Fatal Error when attempting to recaord a video in Captivate 6?

    Hello ,

    Welcome to Adobe Forums !

    There could be multiple reason for this error message .

    You could try running Captivate as administrator (Right Click on icon and then run as administrator).

    And also check the resolution of your computer , Please use 1024 x 768 whcih is recomended .

    If using multiple monitors , try using only one while recording.

    If possible , please post a screenshot as well.

    Hi there

    The question is, does it fail for *ANY* application? For example, if you opened Windows Notepad and tried to record, does it fail there? If so, are you running Captivate with Admin privileges? If not, that may be the cause.

    Assuming you are able to record Notepad without issue, the next bit will be relevant.

    From time to time we do see situations manifest where Captivate may fail because it conflicts with whatever application you are trying to record. In these cases what is recommended is to run the actual application on a different PC. Then establish a remote desktop connection from the PC with Captivate on it to the PC running the app. You then drive the app and record it by observing the remote PC.
