Captivate 6 won't launch/load

Captivate 6 running on Windows xp SP3 PC with Core I5 processor and 4GB of RAM.  Launch from start menu or by double clicking on .cptx file results in the same issue, small green splash screen appears and says loading but doesn't go any further.  If I look in the Windows Task Manager, the process is running and using 50% of the processor but it has been "loading" for over 15 minutes.  Reboot & reinstall haven't worked.

Hello,

Welcome to Adobe Forums.

Did you try to launch Adobe Captivate 6 from a different user account ?

If yes, Follow these instruction :

1) Make sure Adobe Captivate 6 is closed. (Double check in Windows Task Manager -> Processed Tab, no Adobe process is running)

2) Go to this location C:\Windows\Fonts

3) Copy all the fonts to a folder on Desktop (Create a New Folder)

4) Delete all the fonts and then launch Adobe Captivate 6

Note : It might do not let you to delete all the fonts

Hope this helps !!

Thanks,

Vikram

Thanks for posting this workaround. It worked like a charm. However, now the content we're trying to capture isn't displaying correctly because of the lack of fonts. Is there a way to get Captivate to work with the fonts in place?

Thanks!

Hello,

Captivate do not launch because of corrupted fonts.

Fonts which you deleted, you can copy them back (Let say 5 or 10 fonts at a time)

Moment you found it stop launching again, you will have a idea of culprit fonts or font

Rest font can be placed back to C:\Windows\Fonts

Hope this helps !!

Thanks,

Vikram
