Captivate 7 Memory Issue

Hi everyone - hope someone may have the answer to this - have also posted on the LinkedIn Adobe Captivate Group.

Using Captivate 7 on a Desktop PC - Intel i3 Core Processor ; CPU 3.40 Ghz and 8Gb RAM running on 64-bit OS.

Recently have noticed that when I launch Captivate, Memory (Private Working Set) is 220Mb and Physical Memory is 29%.  When I open a file Memory (Private Working Set) jumps to 485Mb and Physical Memory is 32%.

Issue comes as soon as I Preview the file using F8 / F10 / F11 or F12 or when I publish the file.  The memory jumps enormously (after 2 or 3 Previews, Memory (Private Working Set) can jump to 6Gb !! and Physical Memory is at 80-90% usage.

Our IT team have advised that the memory is not flushing.

Has anyone else experienced this recently ?  Is there a fix ?  Would Captivate 9 resolve the issue ?

Captivate is a pretty heavy application (graphical), I would never think about to using an i3 processor, just like I would never use Photoshop on such a processor. Moreover I suspect that RAM also has to be shared, that you don't have a graphics card, which means everything has to be done by the 8GB? Did you try the 32-bit version (is no longer available for CP9, but was still for CP7) instead, maybe it is better suited for your system? Sorry, if this sounds frustrating. As usual the minimum requirements mentioned for Captivate are way too low, as is the case for most applications. It will do for very simple projects, but don't try multitasking or heavy projects with much audio, video and graphics.
