Question

Captivate 7 timeline scrolls to the top when using the red playhead

Hello all,

I am working with a large number of images/text/buttons in Captivate 7.  The quanity activates the right scrow allowing information to be below the timeline window.  When I am trying to follow my timing using the red playhead, on an item that I had to scroll down to the scrow bar automatically scrows to the top item.  This action now hides the items I was testing from view.  Am I the only one that has more items on a slide that is larger then the timeline windows or do others have the same issue as I? If so, how do you deal with this mistake in programming or is there something wrong with my installed version?

Thanks

Richard

You can increase the height of the timeline panel, even make it floating and have it on a second monitor.

    Hello Lilybiri,

I have 2 ea 24 inch monitors, both set at 1920 x 1080 with the timeline floating on one monitor by itself.  The problem is when I am working on an item at the bottom of the list and the scroll is at the bottom of the window and I move the playhead, the scroll moves to the first item at the top and I can not see the item I was working on for timing.

Thank you for your reply, greatly appreciate it.

My understanding is you have lot of items on the timeline and you are facing difficulties in navigating through them.

One solution for that is grouping the objects on the timeline.

    Hello Sreekanth,

I have grouped items before and when you do this you can not move it until you ungroup. not necessarily a action that should have to be done.  If when moving the playhead did not scrow the items list to the top, this would not be an issue.  I figured the programmer somehow forgot and linked the movement of the playhead and the position of the scroll together somehow and needs to be corrrected

Thanks for replying, greatly appreciate it
