Captivate 8.0.0.145 project file crashes and is corrupted on Save

I'm experiencing the extremely aggravating problem where if I attempt to save my Captivate project file, I crash, and then the file is corrupted and I can't reopen (thus losing my unsaved changes). So my only current solution -- and obviously a "playing with fire" one -- is to NOT save the file. I can do everything else: preview, publish, and so on. I just can't save.

Ideas???

First version of 8 was bit buggy, why didn't you install the patches? Present version of 8 is 8.0.3.

Did you clear the cache? Did you clean the Preferences, running the CleanPreferences file from the subfolder Utils in the installation folder. If you are on Windows, do you launch Captivate with 'Run as Administrator' option?.

Thanks. I'm investigating getting the patch. Need help from my IT dept. Will do that.

Sorry, wearing my stupid hat: How do I clear the cache?

Try the button 'Clear Cache in the Preferences, General setttings'.
