Captivate 8.0 crashed and no longer launches

Has anyone experienced Captivate 8.0 crashing, shutting down, and then will no longer launch?

Very recently the app shutdown due to some unknown errors.  I tried restarting the app, but nothing would happen. I checked the Task Manager and it doesn't even show the app attempting to run.  I've shutdown my PC several times, and have also re-installed the app twice, but nothing seems to be work.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Something that often causes issues like this is corrupted fonts.

I know this will sound drastic, but the fix is to copy your entire Windows > Fonts folder to another location (e.g. desktop) and then delete all fonts in the original Windows > Fonts folder.  Windows will stop you from deleting any essential fonts.

Then try running Captivate again.  If it now works, your issue was with one of those fonts that Captivate was trying to load at bootup.

You can search this forum for other posts about corrupted fonts if you want to confirm this could be a cause.

    Hello Rod,

Thank you so much for your quick reply and your insight.

I actually ended up clearing my Registry of any traces of Captivate and then re-install the app in a totally different location other than the default.  It seems to have corrected the problem.

Thanks again and I'll definitely keep your information for future reference if I or any of my colleagues experience any similar issues.
