Captivate 8.01 - Why can't I record in the middle of a file?

In prior versions, I could start a new section of a recording at any point -- it was called 'Record Additional Slides'.  When you click it, you get to choose which slide to start a new recording from.  You could also find it under the Insert menu.  Where did this function go?  I realize that things got re-arranged, but I can't find this capability anywhere.  Pushing the Record icon button does not give me any other option than to record audio.

Thanks everyone.  Glad to see it's a simple solution!

Sighing.... You still can, it is just that this type of slide is missing in the Insert menu. I entered a feature request asking to get it back, but apparently not many users do miss this.

To insert additional recording slides, only way is to use the Big Button Slides, there you'll find 'Software Simulation' which allows you to do what you want. Personally I almost never use that Big Button Bar that takes up so much space, but for this work flow it is the only way.

How do you manage to totally avoid it? Have you maybe memorized all the keyboard shortcuts? There is no way to turn it off, right?

Wished I could turn it of or at least minimize. Yes, I'm using mostly shortcut keys. In Captivate 9 there is another button on that BBB that has no alternative: the Exit State button. How I dislike that BBB...

    Hi there

Look in the Big Button Bar at the far left icon. Click that and you should see a button to add a recording slide (might be Software Demo) drawing from memory as Captivate isn't presently open for me.

    Cheers... Rick
