Captivate 8 Advanced action script not saving

Hi Guys

I am having an issue with saving a conditional action, i have previously created quite a few script for the same project and did not had any problem. But the problem i think started from last night and i thought there was a problem with the labelling of my objects, scripts etc but this is not the case as i have checked and there are no repeated labelling. After i created the script and click on "save action" captivate would normally show "action saved" and the save button greyed out but this time it does say that it is saving but not really saving anything. I tried to recreate the action several time but in vain it still would not save. I also tried to create a small standard action but that also didnt save.

Deadline for my project is mid-Jan and really don't need this issue right now

Has anyone ever had the same problem and were you able to resolve it and how please?

Many thanks

Sheick

Correct answer Lilybiri

Which version are you using, please?

I had that issue once because of a labeling conflict: the name of a decision was used for an object (don't remember which type) somewhere in the course. Since that moment I labeled every object starting with one or two characters identifying the type.

Can you check the names of the decisions?

Just another suggestion:  Close down your project (with Backups turned ON).  Make sure you DO have a backup file created.  Then open Captivate again and Clear your Project Cache.  See if the issue improves.

Your version of Captivate 8 needs to be updated.  It should be 8.0.3 not 8.0.0

Hi Lilybiri

The Captivate version is 8.0.0.145.

When you say the name of a decision was used for an object can you give me an example please?

Many thanks

Decision names are in the conditional actions the different tabs on top, default name is Untitled.

I had labeled them as usual, but one of the names had been used for an object and the advanced action didn't save. It took a while before I found the reason.

You are still on the first, pretty buggy release of CP8, please upgrade ASAP. I don't remember if that one had issues with saving advanced actions however.
