Captivate 8 - Audio not playing on slide

I have added 3 separate audio clips to 3 slides.  The first two slides worked great but the third slide is not playing.  It is the objectives slide for the course and only has text, images and one "continue" button.  I'm not sure what I am doing different on this slide as opposed to the other two.  I am using the free trial of Captivate 8.

There no effects and no animations.  Very basic slide so this is very frustrating.

I have some questions. How could you get the trial for CP8 when at this moment only the trial for CP9 is available? Are you sure about that version?

Audio can be inserted in mutliple ways, I suspect you are using slide audio: do you see an audio timeline (wave form) in the Timeline panel?

How did you test? Which output did you test for if it is a normal project: Preview in Browser (F12) or Preview HTML in Browser (F11)? Did you leave a small gap before and after each audio clip on the timeline: do not start it at the beginning, leave short time after the clip (0.3secs will do). If you test only in Preview, never use Play slide, because that is not a Preview method. Best test is always after publishing, next best are the two Preview in Browser possibilities. For Responsive projects you only have one (only HTML possible).

I just googled Captivate 8 free trial and it popped up and I was able to

get the trial - it was through Adobe.

I see the waveform and I can see it on the timeline.

It's a normal project not responsive. Yes there is a small gap at the

beginning and end. I previewed the project from the beginning and from the

slide. I also published it as html.

Is there some other way I could've paused the slide.without knowing it?

Maybe I arranged the objects in the slide wrong?

If it is slide audio, it will continue playing if the slide is not paused

before the audio. Why 8 when 9 is almost one year rekeased?
