Captivate 8 Audio too high

I have just recorded my first Captivate 8 software simulation and added audio.  I have used Captivate 7 in the past many times.  I have found that the audio is very very high and I have having to go and edit the levels by -5 to make it bearable.  I am using the same headset that I have always used.

I have looked if there is anywhere in Captivate that I can change the default level for audio recording but cannot find an option.  Anyone have any ideas?  thanks
