Captivate 8 PDF Web Object not working on Windows

I am linking web objects to PDF links that are hosted online. They are inaccessible in Internet Explorer and Safari on a Windows system. They are all the latest versions and the PDF is viewable in the browsers, just not within the web object.
Has anyone else had this issue? Have you found a solution?
From either browser on a Windows system, have you successfully accessed a web object link to a PDF that is hosted online?

Thank you

I see. Do you think the solution of using both web objects to cover all scenarios will work or do you foresee other problems that could arise from doing that? Is there a better way to handle it? Perhaps I could use one or the other web object and then alter the published file to accommodate all browsers??? (just throwing out ideas)

I think I would be more apt to launch the PDF with a link in a new window. I don't like my projects throwing errors, so I wouldn't use either WO without fixing the errors. I fix them and keep them in another folder to put back into the project after publishing. You can also include some of the fixes back into the widget so they are actually Fixed. Some of the errors are actually in the CPM.js, which have to be fixed post-publishing.

When you say "on a Windows System" are you trying to run this output from your own PC hard drive or from a networked LAN drive?  If so, then your issue is most likely due to Flash Global Security preventing the links from working.

Take a look at this post:

Local hard drive as a preview, as a locally published HTML5 project, from the LMS, and from Scorm cloud. All result in the same problem. I never operate from a networked drive.

Perhaps to PDF's you are linking to prevent 3rd party sites from displaying their content in an iFrame?
