Question

Captivate 8 & PPT Transfer - C8 "imports" but no slides appear?

I just answered my question before I had the chance to pose it, but I want to share this information incase there are others out there living my frustration:

When you transfer PPT slides into Captivate AND, you've setup a master slide with a background image, the PPT slides transfer BENEATH the background image, even though that image is part of the master slide.

I just spent an hour trying to figure out why my slides were "transferring" but no content was showing.  As I was readying a discussion here, I decided to try removing the BG image from my master slide - lo, and behold! - the content appeared beneath the BG image.

This is dumb.  DUMB.  Adobe, seriously - why?  WHY?  This is NOT supposed to happen.  This is yet another attribute of Captivate that leaves me shaking my head in disbelief.

The simplest things are never simple.

Thanks for posting this. Personally I have repeated this multiple times (also on social media): capturing in Captivate is using the Blank master slide. If you keep that Master slide clean, you'll not have any problems at all. Of course, the fact that the search is not really working very well in these Jive forums doesn't help. I agree that this should be emphasized in the Help documentation. Quite a while ago I discovered it when searching for a similar question by a user on this forum. Tell me how to have this information propagate to other users, I'm out of ideas.

After playing with it I discovered further that you cannot have a background on the master slide at all and transfer PPT slides.  It will not arrange to the back, allowing content to move forward.  So yes, you need to keep the master "clean," as you said.  I'm not sure how to let others know except to post here.  Thanks for responding, now I know it isn't just me!
