Captivate 8 Project stops playing just before knowledge checks

Hi people,

I may be asking too much of Captivate 8. but here goes. I have a project where I have two quizzes at different points within a project acting as knowledge checks. For some users, I suspect those who are returning to the eLearning after having left it, they are not able to enter the knowledge check sections. The Next button in the slide before the knowledge check slides does nothing The problem is not happening for many but it is becoming a nuisance so any ideas would be appreciated.

Regards

Andrew

There are certain situations where allowing bookmarking will conflict with other quiz settings that you may be using.  I suggest you either turn off bookmarking, or else set Quiz > Settings > Required to Optional.  (What is it set to at the moment?)

Captivate 8 only really allows you to have one quiz that will get reported to your LMS.  Even if you include Pretest questions, there's only really one pass or fail score per CPTX module with SCORM.

Turning off the option to have some of the quiz questions report to the quiz so that you can use them as knowledge checks isn't a perfect solution in Captivate 8.  However, Captivate 9 now offers true Knowledge Check questions that remain totally separate from the quiz.  However, your Quiz Results slide at the end of the module is still only showing the actual scored quiz.

Hi Rod,

The Quiz settings are set to optional. I am not seeking to report the score of the quiz although it does appear to be doing so even though I have turned that functionailty off. I do have TOC turned on and the slides with the quiz questions on are excluded frmo the TOC. Wondering if thats the problem....

Do you have Self-Paced Learning option selected in the TOC settings?  If so, that will be bookmarking the content for when the learner resumes a session.

Sometimes jumping back into the middle of a bunch of quiz questions causes Captivate some issues.

The fact that you have Quiz > Reporting turned off only means that you're not trying to report to an LMS.  Whether or not each quiz slide is trying to report to the Quiz is a separate issue.  Do you have reporting turned off for each of your knowledge check questions?
