Captivate 8: Variables bug

More of a statement than a question:

Working with variables in Captivate I keep running across an annoying problem: when you are in the Advanced Actions dialog and you are making a choice from the 'variables' drop down menu, if you make a mistake and click off the drop down for some reason (in error, such as I tend to do sometimes), you cannot get back to the variable drop down menu.  See the images below: the first is me clicking the drop down successfully, the other is after I've clicked elsewhere in error (I have slight nerve damage to my right hand and occasionally my fingers click the mouse on their own).  Once I've made the error, I cannot get the variable drop down to come back (see the third image). I cannot find it at all after the error is made, only the other varible drop down menu remains.

This is really annoying. I have to close this out without saving and start all over again every time it happens.

Is there any way to get the variable drop down to remain, or to find it again? Or a way to recall it once you've lost it? Clicking off makes it go away, and you cannot get it back again.

I don't understand really, is double-clicking not working for you? Something is wrong on your system. Which OS do you use? Can you post the exact version number of 8? Do you clear regularly the cache? Can you refresh the Preferences? On my system I can always change the operator, a variable or a literal by double-clicking on it.

Moreover, can I recommend to use filtering when looking for a name in the dropdown list? Type a sequence of characters that you know to be in the variable name you are looking for and the list will be filtered on them. Example: you want the variable cpCmndMute? Type 'mu' (no case sensitivity) and you'll have that variable.

Thanks, Lilybiri - when I click or double click, the drop down doesn't appear.

Can you answer my questions? The situations you describe are not normal. Only when you have already chosen between variable and literal for a variable (wrongly) you first have to choose a variable, before you can double-click again to change the choice from variable to literal. Bit annoying, but I never have to close the advanced actions dialog box (and I create a lot of them ).

Here's another bug in the same Advance Actions window:

I cannot change my choice from "less or equal to."  I click and click, and the drop down never returns.  This has to be a bug.
