Captivate 8 vs. 9? Beginner here....

I have a question.  As someone who is just starting in Captivate, are there any major differences in the version 9 update?  My main concern are the v.8 tutorials (Adobe, Lynda.com, Youtube, etc.) and version 8 books I've acquired will likely form the basis of my knowledge.  I'm inclined to start on version 8 and then upgrade if there are any reasons to do so.

Please bear with me as I get going.

Thanks,

Eric

Captivate 9 seems to handle Effects much better. For that reason alone (the enhancement of Effects) I would consider Captivate 9. With vs9 you can preview and assign much easier...also group objects and apply an effect to the entire group - could not do this previously.

All of this is relevant if you do animation, of course.

There are many other reasons, though I like the new Effects 2.0 version: importing SVG's (very small image files, that are responsive and vector based), the multistates which can make many work flows much easier (previously done with advanced actions), some enhancements to Advanced actions (I like the Delay command a lot) to mention some.

If you use the link on this page to download the first 50 pages of the e-book, there's a chapter that lists out the differences between version 8 and version 9.
