Captivate 8, YouTube and Firefox: why won't it work?

I am having a problem with Captivate 8, the YouTube Widget and Firefox. Videos housed on YouTube and accessed through the YouTube Widget in a Captivate 8 project no longer works. All I get is a blank screen. If I use the test button in the widget I can access the file and it plays. However when I preview the course in Firefox, or view the published course in an LMS using Firefox, all I get is a blank screen. Further, courses previously published that have worked for a significant period of time in Firefox, now just show a blank screen when it comes to the videos. Everything works fine in Chrome, IE and Safari...no issues. I am using https, as well as the full YouTube URL, so I do not believe this is the issue. I really am quite desperate at this point, Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions?

Hi dbcadmin ,

Are you previewing/publishing your project in web server/LMS ?

Widgets needs a localhost/server to preview.

You can try preview in HTML/SWF from Captivate and check if the issue persist.

Tarun,

I rebooted my machine, cleared all caches and now it works in Chrome, IE and FF. I have to insert the widget rather than use the learning interactions link, but no big deal.

Once again thanks for the fix!

Hi Mohana,

I upgraded to version 8.0.3.290 in the hope that it would help resolve the issue. I was previously using the latest version of 8 and it still did not work.

Everything was fine and worked properly in Firefox until about 2 days ago.

Any suggestions would be really be appreciated

Thanks
