Captivate 9.0.1.320 is slow to load slide with many buttons during preview or published playback. Is Captivate 2017 any faster? Any suggestions for speed improvement?

Captivate 9.0.1.320 is slow to load slide during preview or published playback: slide has many smart shapes used as buttons each having an advanced action, however entire project has only a few slides.

First to do: upgrade to 9.0.2.437 which was a lot quicker. You could try 2017 but I don't find it quicker than that last CP9 release.

Secondly: maybe you have to streamline the setup. Example: I once had to debug a file which had over 600 variables and even more advanced actions. After cleaning up, I reduced it to 25 variables, 20 shared actions (which load much quicker) and 30 advanced actions. That was a much bigger project, but it ran smoothly after the remodeling.

At the very least you should update your software to version 9.0.2.437 which was the last version of 9 to get released. It fixed several bugs and improved performance over previous interim releases. These improvements would also be found in 2017 as well.

Thank you for the excellent advice on "remodeling."  I'll try it.  Our company is planning on upgrading to Captivate 2017 (as part of a larger suite) in the next few weeks, so it's good to know the latest version is faster.  My thanks to both you and Paul Wilson.

Latest version of 9 is faster than previous, I don't find 2017 faster than 9.0.2.437.
