Captivate 9: Answer Area Width Not Scaling Because of Answer Width

Hello,

I'm having a problem with the width of my answer area width not scaling down to match what is in the slide master because the width of the answers themselves are preventing it from getting smaller.  However, these are set to be 98% width, so I would think they should adjust automatically.

As a workaround, I can manually change the width of the answers on each slide to 50%, scale the answer area, then scale back to 98%.  However, with the number of questions times five for responsive, I'm really hoping to not need to do that.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Brian

Sighing, formatting quiz slides is such a pain since so many versions. Please help push this to a priority list for the programmers by logging a feature request! Here is the link.

The big issue is that the Answer area is on the master slides and can be resized and propagate throughout the quiz slides. But the individual answer placeholders cannot be edited on the master slide which results in lot of individual editing of quiz slides. It is already a pain for normal projects, but for responsive projects whether with breakpoint views work flow or with fluid boxes (only in CP2017) it is more than a pain.... Look at my analysis of the Quiz Master slides with Fluid boxes:

It is a little bit better than with the Breakpoint view work flow (I have developed with it, lots of quiz slides) but still editing for each individual quiz slide remains necessary unless you have very short answers.

Haha, sighing with you, but thanks for the answer at least!  And I will submit a request.

It looks like even with short answers, it seems to cause a problem, at least in 9.  No idea when or if we'll get to upgrade to 2017.

I never use the default short answer type of question, it is too limited IMO because you can only validate a totally correct answer which is seldom what you want. For that reason I wrote out a pretty complicated short answer use case to show how a custom question can extend the capabilities:
