Question

Captivate 9 does not allow me to use javascripts

I have created a presentation that is using Javascripts to store variables  using localStorage sentences.

The presentation works well in SCORM if it  is published in HTML5 output format, but it doesn't if published in SWF Output format

Anyone knows why this is happening? or how to solve the issue?

I'm using Captivate 9  Version  9.0.1.320

You are not on the latest version of 9. Could you please upgrade to 9.0.2.437?

Although there is a common JS API, Javascript has a lot more functionlality for HTML output than for SWF. If you look around on this forum for solutions posted by TLCMediaDesign you'll discover that as well. I'm not a JS expert.

The CpExtra widget by InfoSemantics, which also allows to use LocalStorage and SessionStorage to exchange values of vars between files, also is only available for HTML.

    HI there

Likely you need to adjust the trusted location settings for the Flash Player.

Click here to see a demo of how to accomplish that.

    Cheers... Rick
