Captivate 9 .exe will not run on PC

I have downloaded a trial version of Captivate 9. Due to budget limitations, the finished output needs to be stand alone and not run through an LMS. The finished product .exe file will not run at all on a PC. What can be done to correct this or am I doing something incorrectly? Any help is greatly appreciated.
