Question

Captivate 9 export import project captions and closed captions not supported?

Running CP9 on a pc. I tried exporting, changing and importing the Project Captions and Closed Captions. The only changes that took effect were in Closed Captions.  Is the rest of it no longer supported?

Thanks,

Kelly

Hi Kelly,

Are you working on a Captivate 9 project from scratch or an upgraded one? Is it Responsive or non-responsive?

Thanks,

Mohana

We are having the same problem.  A non-responsive project was created. One ID can export, change and import the captions and see the changes immediately with no problems.  However, the same project file was shared with a colleague and when he exports, makes changes and then imports. There is no change to the project file.  Is there a personal (not project file related) preference setting that can affect this?

The encoding of the text file can matter. I assume the edits are being made in Notepad?

Check they 'type' of documents the two IDs are saving their files as. If different (i.e. UTF8 vs ASCI), fix that

Otherwise I assume the export is working fine...

What if the ID 'that works' exports a file and makes changes, saves, then gives that file to the ID 'that doesn't' and they import it.

Do they see the changes now?

If so, all the more likely a text format issue.

if not, then it's something with the Captivate import process.

(i.e. Admin access?)
