Captivate 9 Failure Caption "state"

Hi all,

We've updated to Captivate 9 at work, hoping to take advantages of some of its new features... however, we're having some problems with object states.

We're attempting to use customised Failure Captions for click boxes and text entry boxes by editing their default states - while you can't add further states to a failure caption, it appears you can edit the default ones as you can other objects (but you can't remove the text caption item itself).

This is working well for click box failure captions - the caption appears with multiple images and shapes behind the text, some with effects added.

However, using the exact same technique on text box failure captions doesn't appear to work - all you see is the failure caption text itself, none of the other images/items that are in its default state.

Has anyone else been trying out these features and found a workaround to this kind of issue?

I'm having this exact issue in Captivate 9 with HTML5 output, works with SWF. Any workarounds?

Can you explain more? What is not working? I see that Nimmy didn't follow up the thread started last year.

Hi Lieve,

The issue is, "Additional objects added as part of Text entry box feedback captions doesn't show up in HTML5 output". We are able to reproduce the issue at our end.

Thanks,

Nimmy Sukumaran.

Hi there,

Is it happening with SWF/HTML5 output?

Thanks,

Nimmy Sukumaran.

Hi Nimmy,

This is happening with HTML5 output only - it works fine when published as a SWF.
