Captivate 9 Installer Failed to Initialize

I am on an iMac running Sierra 10.12.1. When I try to install the trial of Captivate 9 I get this message:

Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to a missing file. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem. (link) Get Adobe Support Advisor.

I click the link to get the Support Advisor and I'm taken to a page that says it has been discontinued. I've tried downloading the program three times, and tried it on my laptop also with the same results. Any suggestions?

I found the solution, and it's super easy. Right-click on the installer, Show Package Contents, and follow these steps: Installing Creative Cloud on macOS 10.12 (Sierra)

Captivate 9 is NOT compatible with MAC OS Sierra, according to the Adobe Cp9 System Requirements page and recent experience of several MAC OS Sierra users.

So although you might be able to get the installer to work, getting Captivate 9 itself to work afterwards might not be so easy.

Are you saying that you now have Cp9 working on MAC OS Sierra?

I'm not sure that Captivate is compatible with Sierra which appeared after the launch of Captivate 9 in August 2015.

You can download from this totally legal site, without having to use the Akamai download manager which is used on the Adobe site:

Adobe Captivate 9 Direct Download Links: Free Trials with no Akamai | ProDesignTools

Maybe you will not get the latest release (9.0.2.437) but you can always use Help, Updates to install those patches.
