Captivate 9 Maxing CPU, Painfully Slow

I've recently been working with Captivate 9 for the first time and have found it extremely difficult to work with due to it being very laggy and slow. When I check CPU usage Captivate is at 100%. The operations I'm performing aren't anything crazy, it could just be typing text and yet I'm typing and the text takes several seconds to catch up with me. Anything and everything I click on takes several seconds to respond.

Here's some info about my system:

  • Macbook Pro (2011)
  • Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.1
  • Processor: 2.2 Ghz Intel Core i7
  • Memory: 8GB
  • File I'm working with: 190.7 MB

Captivate 9 requirements are:

  • Multicore Intel processor
  • Mac OS X v10.10.3; iOS 8.3 for iPad (Subject to Apple’s current requirements and approval)
  • 2GB of RAM minimum (4GB recommended)

I'm not running any other applications and I'm using a local file. I realize my laptop isn't the newest, but I haven't had a single problem with it and for every other application I run it works just as good as the day I got it. I've seen one other post about this same issue but it was unresolved. Does anyone have any suggestions to speed things up?

Thanks!

I'm experiencing the same issue ... Are there any updates or patches to fix this ?

I suspect the solution will only ever be to use   Bootcamp  or build a Windows machine.
