Question

Captivate 9 not playing my audio file correctly

Hi,

I have a project to which I import an audio file (mp3)

I then publish to MP4 and when I play the video, the audio file does not play correctly.

When I play the audio file on its own, it works perfectly.

I used the same audio file in a Captivate 7 project and it worked perfectly.

When I tried to open my Captivate 9 project in Captivate 7 to try and resolve the issue I got an error message basically telling me I can't open a Captivate 9 project in Captivate 7.

Please assist. Thanks.

regards

Shéba

Captivate 7 cannot open files created in a later version of Captivate because Captivate is not FORWARD compatible.

Can you be more specific about what you mean when you say the "audio file does not play correctly"?  What exactly happens?

    Hi again Rod,

    Thanks for your prompt response.

Issue - when I  imported the audio file into the Background of my project and then after I publish the project as an MP4 file

the audio sounds like a scratched record.

When I play the Audio on its own - it works fine (when I play the audio through the Audio Management pop up window)

    Thanks Rod

Also just to add that I tried to use the process of elimination to try and figure out the problem so I'll quickly list it for you:

    1) Did the software simulation in Captivate 7 and imported the audio file to Background. Worked perfectly after publishing to MP4 format and opened the published video.

    2) My actual project is in Captivate 9 and because this software is not backward compatible I can't open it in Captivate 7 to try and attach the audio file to it and publish from there.

    3) I used a completely different Audio file and the problem is the same in Captivate 9, when I play back the published video , the audio file sounds like a scratched record. To add more to it

the first couples of beats of the song repeat exactly as a stuck record and then it just plays the same few beats over and over.

At the moment my only option is to publish to MP4 from Captivate 9 without audio because the system sounds like mouse clicks and typing are all working.

Ideally though I need to have that background music.

Thanks for your time on this.

    regards
