I subscribed to Captivate 9 today (Mac) and am having the same issue. I'm hardly going to uninstall every font just to get it to work, either. Does anyone else have any practical ideas to get this fixed? Creating a new project and leaving it open doesn't work for me.

After many attempts, this is the fix.... You have to uninstall every Adobe product. Clean the registrar. Delegate all the folders etc. Then install captivate on a clean Adobe free computer..... It's best to open chat session with the help guys...... But all mine is working now....

Wow, thanks for the details, but there is absolutely no way I am uninstalling and reinstalling everything for a fix that will possibly still not work. Captivate 8 works just fine, Adobe needs to fix 9 so it just works properly without needing to jump through so many hoops!

I had this issue on one of my computers.

I uninstalled Captivate 9 from my PC using the Control Panel, and then restarted my PC. I then re-ran the 64 bit installation and it seemed to solve my issue.

Also make sure nothing is open so it does not interfere with my installation. When I originally installed CP9 I had CP8 open and I wonder if that affected the install.

    Hello ,

    Welcome to Adobe Forums !

Please check if you have updated your Adobe Application manager to Creative Cloud Desktop app or not.

It may be because of the corrupt fonts as well, Please Go to C:\Windows\Fonts and then try to Copy the Fonts Folder and save a backup on the Desktop.

Now close all of the applications and try to delete all of the fonts from C:\Windows\Fonts and then launch Captivate.

    Regards

yep I did all that and its still closing after around 5 seconds. I did get it to stay open a little longer double clicking on a project file, but then it closed again and said something went wrong? no number or anything.

Are you launching Captivate using Run As Administratory privileges?

Have you tried resetting the Preferences?
