Captivate 9 progress bar with forward navigation disabled

I want the progress bar to be a visual indicator of where the user is in the course, but I do not want the user to be able to use it to skip through the course. There are a number of posts in this forum from people asking for this feature throughout the years, so it's shocking that it hasn't been added yet. The only solutions I've seen are editing the core Captivate files or adding a third-party widget. I work with a team of instructional designers in a professional environment, so those solutions are not acceptable.

Does anyone have a reasonable solution? I have already submitted a feature request.

There is no default solution with out of the box Captivate functionality.

As you have noted, there are widgets that offer this ability. If you are publishing to HTML5 then the CpExtra widget is your solution.
