Captivate 9 SCORM- video links don't work in LMS

I am reaching out to see if you might have solved this problem with your LMS, and might have an idea for me.

First do you use Captivate 9 to create your training courses?  We just started using it and have come to a problem we can’t seem to solve.  Our LMS is docebo.

We are in the process of uploading Captivate 9 SCORM courses into the LMS.  The quizzes, slide advancement, etc. works perfectly.  We included video links in the Captivate 9 course, but when uploaded to the LMS, clicking the video link just ends the training course.  The links work perfectly in the SCORM preview.  We can’t see the HMTL code in the LMS.  I am wondering if we neglected to change a setting?

If you know what to do to solve this problem, I would appreciate that.

Thanks! LJ

What is probably happening here is that opening the link is breaking the SCORM API connection with the LMS.

According to the SCORM standard, no SCO should call anything outside itself.  So, technically, by opening other windows or linking out to other content, you have broken that standard.

Each LMS interprets the SCORM Standard slightly differently.  Some interpret it VERY literally and it may be that Docebo is thinking that by opening up another window the course session is therefore ended.

I suggest you first upload your current SCORM content to SCORM Cloud and test it from there to see if it exhibits the same behaviour.  If it does NOT, then go back to Docebo and complain.  If it DOES, then look more closely at your course.  I would suggest removing all external links.
