Captivate 9 showing wrong slide

Hi

I'm constructing a project with a lot of video elements serving as background.

(Since users can choose between several avatars, every video actually consists of 1 of 12 available 'states'... so every slide has 12 video's.)

Sometimes, when proceeding from one slide to another, a wrong slide is briefly visible to the user. These appearences seem to appear randomly but most of the time, the first video appears...

It seems captivate has loaded a wrong slide and then corrects itself.

Anyone any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi,

I have the same problem. I'm not using multiple videos on a single slide, but I've got many video slides in a project. Sometimes, when 'arriving' on the next slide, a very short part of a totally different slide / video is visible, then Captivate 'corrects itself'. I recently moved from CP9 to CP2017 and it seems this problem has improved a little, but it's not completely gone.

Anyone got an idea?

I don't think this can be fixed except maybe by using fade in transitions. It is due to the lot of 'calculation' that Captivate has to do when loading the slide, especially if pretty low bandwidth has been used. We warned you against this very complicated approach, especially since those are videos and not just images. At least my memory recalls the discussion about those 12 avatars. Using SVG's or very small animations would perhaps work, but videos

What do you mean you warned me? I don't have any problems loading the slides on time, it is just a matter of displaying the right slides at the right time... slide 1 does not have to appear in between of slide 9 and 10... any ideas on that?

OK, someone was on the forum asking about how to use avatars and choose between the avatars on all the slides. Maybe it was someone else, but looked a real coincidence. I apologize to have thought so, my memory doesn't always include the user name.

Can you check the exact version of 9? Did you install the released hotfix? Although this issue (which I never did see on this forum yet) is not included in the mentioned fix list, it certainly is not bad to get the latest version.
