Question

Captivate 9 - TEB Ctrl key

We are building a course to mimic software in which the learner clicks the Ctrl key to advance the cursor.  We have removed the submit button and added validation.  I've remove EVERYTHING else from the slide and the cursor does nothing after entering the data (a street address).  There are no other objects on the slide that could be interfering with the TEB.  Clicking on Ctrl does nothing and the learner is stuck on that slide (as it's a simulation, we've removed the playbar from that slide).

We are publishing to HTML5.

Any suggestions?

Because Adobe Captivate is primarily designed to publish content that is intended to run inside a web browser, there are certain keystrokes that just won't work with things like software simulation and HTML5, Text entry box submit buttons and click boxes. The CTRL key is reserved in most browsers with a combination of other keys. For example, CTRL+F will open most browser's find text on page function.

My suggestion would be to have a disclaimer upfront that states something like "For the purposes of this training you must substitute the Ctrl key for the C key" or something like that.

Thanks, Paul.  I should have added, the Ctrl key works fine in the rest of the training modules, just not this one.  I've rebuilt the TEB, I've rebuilt the slide, and can't get it to work.

Can you post a screenshot of the timeline and of the Actions tab of the TEB?

    Are you on 9.0.2.437?
