Question

Captivate 9 Timing off on Publish

When I preview my project, the timing of shapes/text boxes looks perfect.  When I publish it as an Video, it is completely off (by a lot, not a little).  Why is this happening??  What can I do?  It's impossible for me to fix because it looks perfect in Preview.  Is there something I should be doing during Publish that I'm not doing?  Please help!  I'm going insane!

I have to ask some questions:

  • Are you using the latest version of 9: 9.0.2.437?
  • You talk about publishing as a video: do you indeed mean to mp4, instead of the normal publish to an interactive tutorial?
  • How did you preview? Best methods are in Browser.
  • I you don't publish to MP4, which output do you use, SWF or HTML5
  • I suppose this is a normal, not a responsive project?

OK, never understand why you want to create a passive video with a tool that is meant to create interactive tutorials, but that is a personal choice of course.

Can you give some examples of the timing going awry? Is it possible to insert some screenshots of timelines?
