Captivate 9 - variable text field character limit?

Hey! Working with Captivate 9 and JavaScript, I created a game that gives immediate feedback via a text field with a variable attached, so that I can treat it like a dynamic text field and update it when I need to. Everything works great, except, there seems to be about a 50 character limit on the text field itself.

How is it, that I can create a user variable with 150 max characters in the project variables, but a text field cannot hold 150 character variable in it? No matter the size of the text field or font size, it always cuts off. Its ruining the aesthetics.

Am I missing a setting somewhere? Is this customizable?

Has the limit been removed/increased in Captivate 2017 at all?

Its driving me nuts. Any info anyone could provide is appreciated. Coming from someone with programming experience, this is frustrating to say the least.

    Correct answer Captiv8r

When you first insert the variable you have the opportunity to configure the size.

Also, if anybody knows a good source of documentation on what JavaScript can do in Captivate, that would be awesome! I found little bits of info here and there, but no solid source.

    Thx in advance!

Something so simple! Thanks a ton! You just saved me some major headaches. Its worth noting, you can only set the character limit immediately after inserting the text caption. Otherwise, the option is locked/grayed out.
