Has anyone else experienced Captivate 9 YouTube widget issues where projects will only work in HTML5 output? Anyone know how to get classic Captivate projects to stream with YouTube widget or another option?

Youtube widget currently has issues since Youtube changed their API for videos.

The recommended approach now is to use the Captivate Web Object instead, which is normally used to display web pages inside a Captivate project, but can also be used with the embed codes from Youtube to show a video from there.

Hi Rod - I'm having a similar problem. I was able to get the YouTube widget to work as an .exe output by sending the file from Captivate 8 on a different computer to Captivate 9 on my computer. However, the resulting slide cut off the right inch of the video. Do you know how to change the size of the YouTube Widget display box?

I tried the web object approach, but that produced a blank screen.

Any help that you could provide with either approach would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Have you tried to publish the course as html5 only and open the course in IE? I found this worked with using the YouTube widget in Cap 7. Cap 9 allows Chrome, FireFox and IE to work fine.
