Captivate and an LMS

I don't have experience using an LMS yet. I just completed watching a Lynda.com video on Moodle.  It looks like the Moodle LMS would allow me to create quizzes instead of using Captivate. Am I correct is stating that this is the case? Or, is Captivate's quizes and an LMS integrated together?

The way I see it now, I would upload the Captivate course and then use the LMS to create the quiz as a means of using the grading functions. Am I correct?

Thanks

Yes Moodle and most other LMSs provide some way to create simple quiz questions.  But then these will be separate to the SCORM zip file that you create with Captivate and load into the LMS.  If you create all of your assessments in the LMS tool, then you cannot migrate them to another LMS (if you ever need to).  If your assessment questions are done in Captivate then they are part of the SCORM.

Create a SCO from the Captivate file by setting up Reporting. The score obtained in the Captivate quiz will be tranferred to the gradebook, and eventually other data as well. Google for 'SCORM'.
