Captivate Branching Logic Confusion

I’m experimenting with branching scenarios in Captivate, but the navigation is not smooth.
When learners go back, sometimes it skips slides or doesn’t return to the right branch.
I’ve added buttons with “jump to slide,” but it feels clunky.
What’s the cleanest way to manage branching in the latest Captivate?
