Captivate Causes IE7 to Crash during Recording

Hello,

I'm trying to create a recording of an internet explorer based application (Microsoft Dynamics AX, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Dynamics_AX) and when I try to initiate a search inside of the application IE7 crashes while Captivate is recording.  If captivate is not recording then taking the same steps works fine.

Technical information:

Adobe Captivate 4

Record Software Simulatoin

Record application window (IE7)

No FMR, no auto use FMR if drag and drop

Computer

Lenovo t61

3g memory (utilization while recording under 30%)

Core 2 duo 2.2

nvidia quardro 140m

My guess is that there is some kind of java/flash/other program running inside of AX which causes Captivate to crash.  Are there any know  bugs with these? or is there any other way of recording this with Captivate?

Thanks,

Mike

    Hi Mike

When recording fails like this, one way past it is to establish a remote desktop connection to a different PC. "Drive" the application remotely and record that way. This way the incompatible application isn't in the same memory space. Sort of like an Actor getting angry because paparazzi is snapping pictures. But if they are snapping pictures of the actor on TV, it's a different matter altogether.

    Cheers... Rick
