Captivate Classes missing pieces - preview 1-5, custom motion paths

Hi everyone,

I'm still doing development in Captivate Classis. The upgrade seems to have gotten rid of the preview next 1-5 slides. I don't want to have to publish/preview an entire 80 slide lesson to just see if a couple things are working. Did that option get relocated somewhere?

Also, I used to use custom motion paths in advanced actions. But I don't see the ability to do that anymore either. Again, am I missing something? Or did they get rid of it?

Anyone know how we can get these missing things put back in?

Thanks,

  Lori

Hi Lori!

You are talking about a non-responsive project in version 11.8.2, correct?

The Preview methods you are pointing out were already non functional in previous versions for HTML5 output. Reason; they used a temporary SWF output which was not representative at all for HTML. I have warned many users to avoid using those Preview methods, the only functional Preview is F11 and it is that one which was preserved in 11.8.2. Although you see two options 'Project' and Preview HTML in Browser, but they are identical using the shortcut key F11.

I had logged that bug since many versions, and really regret that the team didn't provide the other Preview methods which exist for responsive projects in non-responsive projects.

I understand your frustration. My workaround is to enable the TOC in overlay with full navigation, to make it easier to navigate to any slide.  The project still has to render fully, but on a decent system that doesn't take too long.

About your second issue: I will double-check tomorrow but didn't see this option being banned because this has nothing to do with SWF technology. To use a custom Effect in an advanced action, did you use this workflow?
