Question

Captivate Classic quiz scores/completion data aren't reporting to LMS

Hello,

I have been experiecing intermitent issues with our course quiz completion data reporting to an LMS. Learners will pass the exam but the data is not sent to the LMS, so their completion is not recoreded. They take a screenshot and it shows they have passed the exam.  Are there any ideas for troubleshooting or workarounds to ensure that the data is sent to the LMS and the completion is recorded?

Thank you!

One thing I would suggest is that you make sure your learners are told they must click that Continue button on the Quiz Results slide and not just close down their browser as soon as they see the Quiz Results slide.

    Hi Maddie ,

Can you help and provide the following information to help us better troubleshoot the issue-
    - screenshot of your completion/success criteria ?
    - which LMS have you hosted course on ? is your LMS using the latest LMS engine for the corresponding engine ? Does your LMS launch the course in an iFrame?
-which LMS standard you are using ?
-which Captivate Version has been used to publish the course ?
-how do the learners close the course ? say a course button or your LMS player has an exit button or they close the browser tab directly ? ( we recommend using course exit button to better allow LMS drivers to roll up events to your LMS )

    Regards,

Hi, here is the response from our LMS

    1. **LMS engine:** We use SCORM Cloud as our content engine. SCORM Cloud is kept current with the latest SCORM specifications and browser requirements, so we stay aligned with modern standards and compatibility expectations.
    2. **Launch method:** We launch courses in a separate browser window or tab, not in an iframe. This avoids cross-domain and cookie issues in modern browsers and is more reliable for SSO and tracking.
    3. **Supported standards:** Because we use SCORM Cloud, we support all major SCORM formats, including SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 (all editions). In addition, we support AICC version 2 and version 4. We do not support local AICC packages, only remote access AICC packages. If you have content in any of these formats, it will run properly in our LMS.

I use the SCORM Cloud free version to test my products and have not had any problem with the quiz reporting. Try using xAPI as a test.

What standard are you sending the data to the LMS with?
