Captivate Classic: Software simulation - text entry boxes won't work

I've been making simulations from the same platform for weeks now.  There was never a problem with text entry boxes being created before. As of this morning, however, instead of a text entry box, it just shows a recording of the typing. 

 

 

I tried clearing my project cache but to no avail. Is there anything else I could try? I really need this to work as my deadline is getting close.

    UPDATE:
    Unfortunately, there is no fix for this.

    Adobe support tried to troubleshoot this for me and they were unsuccessful. 

    This might be because Classic has not been updated for Ventura. They suggested reverting to Mojave but this cannot be accommodated at my company due to security measures.

    Sorry to hear that and thanks for reporting. Why is each new Mac version messing up Captivate features. This has happened only once for a Win update.

    Totally agree! It's infuriating, esp bc they are so slow to update with the OS updates, if at all.

    It's also partially my fault. 

    My previous boss used to remind us NOT to update the OS when our IT teams sent out mass emails telling everyone to update. He always knew it would mess with Captivate. Now that I'm leading all things eLearning for my current company, I need to remember this on my own.

    PS This is on Mac OS.

    Probably another bug for Mac? Which OS version do you use on the Mac. Sorry not to be able to help because I am a Windows user, using 12.2.0.19 on Win11.

    Ventura. I haven't changed versions in months. It does seem like another bug. This software is making me look really bad at work these days because of all of its problems slowing down my projects.
