Question

Captivate encoding URL

I have a URL that ends in

  Guidelines.pdf#page=34

that I've entered as a hyperlink. When I run the course it looks like captivate changes it to

guidelines.pdf%23page%3D34/

causing the browser to throw a 404 error.

How do I stop Captivate from encoding/changing the URL I enter?

BTW is there a reason why Adobe choose to make the edit field for a link's URL to only fit about 32 characters? I know some URLs are that short but many are way longer (this page's URL is 97 characters long) and trying to check/enter them in such a small edit field gets old fairly quickly.

HI there

I might try the reverse. Copy the encoded URL and paste it instead of the one with the correct looking characters.

As for the length and editing, I would use something like Windows Notepad to make my edit, then copy from there and paste into the field.

Cheers... Rick
