Question

Captivate file opened on a different computer interprets font incorrectly

I sent my colleague a file and when she opened it, the title objects and a couple of the other objects changed their font from Segoe UI to Times New Roman.

On her computer, the object style doesn't show a "plus" sign (typically what you'd see to indicate that it had been changed). Even more weirdly, if you go to the object style definitions on her computer, the object style looks fine and unchanged (Segoe UI).

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Karin

Just one comment: the plus sign next to an object style means that you have overridden the object style, which is considered to be bad practice in all applications using styles. The theme in CP has several components: object styles, master slides, recording defaults and skin. If you use the same theme, no overridden styles, project will look the same.

Typically this would occur if the other user does not have the same font installed on their computer. I know Segoe UI is fairly standard on a Windows machine, but even still, she may have uninstalled it for some reason, or perhaps she is using an older/newer version of the font.
