Question

Captivate files open, but don't display

When I open a Captivate file, the status bar shows the file opening but the storyboard with the slides never shows up; therefore, I cannot edit anything. When I close the program though, it asks me whether I want to save the changes I made to the file.

Captivate seems to open the file, but I cannot get the editing screens to appear!

Anyone have any ideas of what to do? I'm thinking these files are corrupted...

Hi, same happended to me some times, but I found out (in my case) that it was probably a problem of low memory. So I disabled the antivirus software for a while and then the problem was fixed and I worked perfectly.

Hi kpin and welcome to our community

Where is your .CP file stored when you try to open it? Is it on a network drive? If so, this is likely your issue. Move the file locally to your C drive.

You say "Captivate seems to open the file, but I cannot get the editing screens to appear!". Well, if this is the case, are you then able to click File > Save As? If so, maybe you can recover by saving as a different file name.

    Cheers... Rick
