Question

Captivate has some serious limitations for professional work

I've been using captivate for about a year. Just got Captivate 6 and was hoping some of the problems in 5 were fixed.

here's a list of EXTREMELY annoying things that Adobe must fix if they want a professional training product.

1. Copy & Paste effects. This is a no-brainer -- I have no idea why adobe would make this so difficult. I know about saving as xml but that is tedious.

2. Make effects independant of slide duration. Why must they change when you change slide duration? This is almost NEVER useful.

3. Zoom in on Effects like you can on the timeline.

4. Custom motion paths -- again a no-brainer. Powerpoint/Articulate has this, but Captivate does not.

5. Inserting audio without attaching it to an object and move around timeline independantly. Say I want a sound effect -- I must always create an invisible object to attach it to and place on the board somewhere.

6. Easier way to specify audio for multiple slides.

7. Customize own reflection, shadow settings.

8. Flip objects like you can images.

9. Allow to adjust/get rid of the Fade In effect on emphasis animations. I can't use the spin effect without the stupid fade-in, fade-out.

10. Provide wayyy more setting for things like effects and styling and formatting.

Basically, please make this of the same quality as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator. Please???

And if anyone knows of a better workaround or if I'm missing something please let me know!

Logan,

I think many here would agree with your suggestions.  However, you're really posting them in the wrong place.  If you want to have ANY chance of getting Adobe to think about each of the items on this list, log them as enhancements using the form page provided on this forum.  Only THOSE items that are properly submitted will be considered at all.
