Captivate is not recording tooltips in a web application

Hi,

I am using adobe captivate 3 to record a web based application i.e. SAP BusinessObjects BI Dasboard using IE 6.0, I have exhausted all options of converting tooltips into rollover and using full motion recording option, in either case for some reason AC3 is not capturing tool tips.

Any suggestion would be very helpful, i am running out of time and have a deadline to catch.

Thanks!

    Dear Erik,

Thanks a million for a quick reply but now tooltips are being recorded in the application when i use 'Full Motion Recording' option in CP3. But doing so i cannot use edit functions like tweaking with time and adding captions and notes, since 'Full Motion Recording' is like recording the screen via Camcorder as they (CP3) say in their help, one cannot edit later on.

My only problem now is if you or someone can tell me which options (in Recording Mode) to use so that during recording, tooltips are also recorded.

To solve this i did used the option in edit->preferences->Modes->Captions--> "Convert Tooltips into roll over caption" .... using which did NOT help :(

Thanking in anticipation to anybody out there who might help me in this.

    best regards.

Anything that Captivate does not capture automatically you can 'force'
to be captured by pressing the PrintScreen key on your keyboard. So,
rollover the item so the tooltip shows and when it appears, press
PrintScreen. This has worked for me before, but with CP 2 I think it was.

Now, what you mean by 'converting tooltips to rollover' and 'using full
motion recording', I'm not sure. I'd avoid full motion recording unless
you need to show an animation of something - it just makes your file all
    the more bigger.

If you want to setup CP so the user rolls-over an item and a tooltip
appears, then it would seem you do NOT want to capture the application's
tooltips but recreate them in CP itself, no?
