Captivate Issue- Multiple buttons- multiple popups- one timeline?

Ok so how do you create multiple popup buttons with text that disappear, allowing you to select others that do the same. This is not possible in Captivate- or am I wrong........ My experience.... Insert one button popup with text- (pause) then it goes to the end of the timeline......
