captivate not taking screen image when I click on things

When I record my screen, captivate will not take an image of the screen, even if I have chosen to always add click boxes. This did not used to be the case. Any suggestions?

    Welcome to the forum.

    I suspect you are talking about the capture of a software simulation, correct? Which mode did you choose to record? Since you talk about 'click boxes' I suppose it is Training or Assessment?

    Can you provide the exact version number you are using? You find that number under Help, About Captivate (Win) or Captivate, About Captivate (Mac). At this moment two completely different software versions are used: version 12 and 11.

    Thanks so much for your quick reply.  To answer your questions, it is actually all modes (custom, training, assessment, etc). and yes in software simulation. The version i am in is 11.5 2019 windows version.

    I am using version 11.5.5.553, which is a very stable version (much more than the later ones), on Windows as well.

    Can you confirm this full version number? If my memory is not failing, there were problems with software sims in earlier 11.5 versions. It is the reason I asked you to provide me with the full number.

    Do you start Captivate with the option 'Run as Administrator'? I would also try to clean the cache and eventually clear the Preferences.
