captivate, O captivate where for art thou

Downloaded the trial version of captivate. Installed it and launched. The "new" dialogue launched in the top left hand corner of the displayScreen Shot 2017-05-16 at 7.42.57 PM

I wasn't expecting this, but I'll work with it. Managed to drag it down to the centre of the display of MBP and select "New>Responsive project" and clicked "Create".

Captivate is open but I see nothing, Zilch, NADA - see attached.

That's it. That's all I see of captivate. Now I'd heard it's magic, but this might be stretching it a little.

I think the ui is somewhere, but where? That's where I need assistance and I only have 29 days left or it's back to Articulate.

Regards,

Lawrence

Before your license expires you should reach out to CaptivateHelp@Adobe.com and see if they can help you out. Once you get it going, write a review and a blog post about your experience and that should gain you 150 points, then ask Shambu Nashi for the complimentary license for three months. Then you can give it a good long try and even publish your projects without the trial limitation of only functioning for 30 days.

**Update**

found others on these forums with the same issues Non of whom seem to have had any joy in fixing it or having it fixed.

Decided to contact "support". This is as confusing as to the "28 days left" on my captivate trial. Captivate is not included in the apps that adobe supports. So I chose "licensing" and the kind person transferred me to the captivte group.

I was told to navigate to library>preferences >adobe captivate 2017 and rename it with the suffix "old" and then restart. I now have two Captivate 2017 prefs folders - one current and one has "old" appended. can I now see the Captivate UI. NO!

So what am I to do? I don't want to have to do my complete reinstall of the OS, or constan renamed library folders and then hope Captivate will behave. Is there no answer to this conundrum. Maybe some kind soul knows what's happening and can show me the way? Please?-¡-

You are on Mac? Since I am a diehard Windows user, it is difficult to help you out because we seem to talk another Captivate dialect.
